SUMMARY

The WASS Deputy Maintenance Director (DMD) will assist the WASS Maintenance Director with maintenance policy and procedure development and publication for all current and future AAR WASS operations. The DMD also provides auxiliary support to site managers, the AAR WASS Operations Director, AAR WASS Director of Logistics and maintenance related activities in the AAR WASS Global Mission Center (GMC) as directed by the WASS Maintenance Director to ensure successful mission execution at sites. May provide assistance with the DoS Air Wing Maintenance branch to ensure INL/A Maintenance activities comply with applicable U.S. Federal, State and Local regulations; as well as Host Nation regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists in the oversight of maintenance training policy and ensures currency and qualifications of all mechanics.

  • Ensures all required Maintenance reports are submitted on time and accurately to applicable AAR WASS Program Management offices.

  • Manage cost, schedule and performance parameters pertinent to Maintenance and ensure all maintenance contractual requirements are met.

  • Perform financial analysis in preparation for specialized Maintenance budgets to include staffing and operational needs.

  • Assist with Maintenance budget and oversight of the financial well being of Maintenance via exercising cost controls.

  • Report Maintenance information to the AAR WASS Program Director, and all relevant levels of the AAR WASS staff.

  • Work as part of an Integrated Process Team (IPT) with AAR matrix staff members who provide proper finance, contracting, human resourcing, compliance, and legal review on emerging and ongoing programs.

  • Supervise and coordinate with the Maintenance team ensuring that all facets of Maintenance management are applied to developing and ongoing efforts and are in compliance with all contractual requirements.

  • Promote efficient and effective aspects of Maintenance development and execution to the Maintenance team

  • Assist Maintenance Manager in with direct charge Maintenance requirements through appropriate manpower and resources.

  • Participate in the development of new business and capture support

  • Assist with the implementation of improvements to the program to meet changing mission parameters and requirements

  • Design, development, integration, testing, sustainment and documentation for aircraft systems/subsystems

  • Organize, direct, and coordinate planning and implementation of all contract support activities

  • May interface with government and contractor personnel

  • Provide auxiliary support to formulate and review project feasibility studies, determine costs and ensure conformance to work standards.

  • Interpret organizational policies, purposes, and goals for subordinates

  • Assist Maintenance Manager with maintenance support for complex aviation activities

  • Identify, acquire and utilize required resources to achieve project objectives

  • Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws

  • Position requires a U.S. security clearance

  • Performs other duties as assigned

EDUCATIONREQUIRED

  • Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business, Logistics or related scientific/technical discipline.

PREFERRED

  • Masters Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business, Logistics or related scientific/technical discipline.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCEREQUIRED

  • Minimum of eight (8) years progressive experience in acquisition and sustainment of aircraft and aircraft systems.

  • Strong English speaking and written communication skill.

PREFERRED

  • Minimum of fifteen (13) years progressive experience in acquisition and sustainment of aircraft and aircraft systems.
