The Senior Manager, Government Compliance will serve as a key player to AAR Government Services, and it’s associated operating units, including AAR Airlift Group, and the Worldwide Aviation Support Services operating segments, on all matters concerning effective compliance with the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and other U.S. Government requirements. The Senior Manager, Government Compliance reports to the AAR Government Services Vice President Finance, and will work with Government Services business unit personnel on a daily basis. The Senior Manager, Government Compliance, will work in tandem with the AAR CORP. Director of Government Compliance to plan and execute ongoing compliance activities, as well as special projects. The role includes coordinating and supporting activities extending throughout the entire government contracting process, from the bid & proposal phase through, contract execution and government reporting.



  • Primary responsibility for the role include:

  • Act as subject matter expert to the assigned business units on all matters dealing with government compliance.

  • Regular updates and communications with AAR CORP. Director of Government Compliance to manage all compliance related matters at the business units.

  • Manage relationship with Cognizant Federal Agency Officials (CFAO).

  • Assessment, monitoring, and remediation of key government business systems, including accounting, estimating, procurement, MMAS, EVMS, and Government Property.

  • Provide hands on support to business units, in compilation and calculation of indirect rates, including: incurred cost submissions, forward pricing rate proposals, and general dollar magnitude impacts associated with changes in cost accounting practices.

  • Responsible for Intermediate Home Office (IHO) incurred cost submission, and monitoring of IHO allocations throughout the fiscal year.

  • Assist in annual review of cost accounting practices, and update of business unit disclosure statements.

  • Monitor changes to contractual and regulatory obligations as well as industry shifts and best practices

  • Identify, communicate, and implement opportunities to improve controls and operational processes

  • Periodic education and training of employees on matters of Government compliance.

  • Demonstrate a confident and well-developed communication style, both written and spoken, that establishes credibility and facilitates clear understanding of issues and influence change where appropriate.

  • Participate in a variety of special projects as assigned by management.

  • Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university; MBA or Master’s Degree in Accounting is preferred

  • Candidate with a CPA is preferred

  • Minimum of ten years of government compliance and / or government accounting and reporting experience

  • Must be a US person (US citizen, US permanent resident or individual with protected status) due to US export control laws and regulations

  • Excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills

  • Strong problem-solving abilities with sound judgment and decision-making
