JOB SUMMARY

Technical Training Manager located in Kabul, Afghanistan to support the C-130 Training program. This position is responsible for the development, continuity, and delivery, of all Afghan Air Force (AAF) classroom education and hands on training courses to AAF personnel in performance of C-130 aircraft maintenance work. This position will assess and analyze AAF training processes and provide the customer with recommendations for improvements and remedial actions. Additionally, the Training Manager provides training support across the entire C-130 program assisting and enabling overall mission success.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides direct management oversight for overall training in support of the C-130 program.

  • Assists key managers in providing oversight, initiating, conducting training or/and supervising within his/her respective area of responsibility to meet the contract objectives.

  • Deliver a technical training curriculum that includes Basic Avionics; and C-130 Engine/Body, Hydraulics and Fuels courses.

  • Manages a training and curriculum team between four and fourteen individuals.

  • Coordinates with the customer the scheduling of all technical training courses.

  • Subject matter expert for curriculum development and instruction.

  • Work with course development specialist to create a sound training curriculum that utilizes both formal Instruction and on the job training.

  • Ensures the proper documentation of training in the training records of C-130 personnel.

  • Schedules and coordinates vendor training and certification.

  • Prepare proposals, concept briefs or periodic reviews as required

  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Determine standardized procedures, develop and track recurring actions, determine work schedules to improve efficiency of subordinates.

Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Knowledge and understanding of the Instructional System Development (ISD) process through formal training.

  • Must possess knowledge of training techniques, methods of instruction, learning processes, training curriculum development, training evaluations and training support systems/procedures.

  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.

  • Ability to facilitate and present course material of a technical nature.

  • Strong comfort level with public speaking.

  • Ability to create and adjust presentations to enable learning.

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of aircraft maintenance / logistics and supply chain management.

  • Ability to create an environment fit for learning and having a positive regard for others.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to read and write English fluently.

  • Ability to converse Dari, Russian or Pashto is preferred.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • 5 years ISD process experience (without degree), including formal, informal, and OJT training programs.

  • Two years as a Unit Training Manager, including supervisory and management experience.

  • Five years instructor experience utilizing MS PowerPoint presentations

  • Recent experience within Afghanistan or with the Afghan culture preferred.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.Associate‚Äôs degree, preferred.
