SUMMARY

It will be the responsibility of the Ground Services Maintenance Mechanic to perform assigned duties safely and in a manner that will ensure the compliance of the maintained equipment. The Ground Services Maintenance Mechanic is under the immediate and direct supervision of the Operations Manager and is ultimately responsible to the Director of Maintenance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Only perform those duties for which they have been properly trained.

-Maintain personal tools in a condition that will not compromise the condition of the product being maintained.

-Replace simple items such as, batteries, filters and similar accessories, using basic mechanic hand tools.

-Perform preventative maintenance activities on equipment, maintain records of inspections and repairs in accordance with manuals, schematics, blueprints and other relevant documentation.

-Troubleshoot equipment issues including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic. Make all necessary repairs to return equipment to compliant condition in a cost effective and timely manner.

-Develop and maintain preventative maintenance schedules and perform preventative maintenance activities on equipment.

-Maintain maintenance records and spare parts inventory as needed.

-Calibrate and adjust machine tools and equipment.

-Perform minor building maintenance functions including but not limited to painting, plumbing, and electrical.

-Maintain the work environment in a clean, organized and safe manner.

-All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

-High School diploma or GED required. Some experience in maintenance of heavy equipment/machinery (including relative experience outside of Aviation).

-Strong interpersonal, communication skills and ability to read.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

-Required: Ability to read, comprehend and write English.

-Required: Some maintenance experience (including relative experience outside of Aviation).

-Required: Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

-Preferred: Experience in forklift operation.
